This September was my third return to Orlando Florida and my second ever trip to SeaWorld. 2011 was my first SeaWorld experience and my lasting memory was the electrifying Manta rollercoaster and all the beautiful animals. SeaWorld has had some bad press in recent years but I know it’s been working hard to show the world how it is dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the animals in its care. This year I really noticed how much animal conservation was talked about.
Phill and I were fortunate enough to be provided with complimentary tickets to SeaWorld and QuickQueue passes for the rides. That meant we sailed to the top of the queue of all the rides…which makes all the difference in the soaring Florida heat! It also meant we could make our way around the park much faster than the last time we were there.
For me SeaWorld has some of the best rides out of all the theme parks in Orlando. They are not for the faint hearted, but if you’re an adrenaline junkie you’ll love it! The Manta rollercoaster is so much fun I rode it twice. Once you take your seat on the ride you are strapped in before being tipped face forward and soaring your way around the rolercoaster! It’s scary and fun all at the same time…exactly what a rollercoaster should be.
When you need to cool down in the hot Florida sun, Journey to Atlantis is just the ticket. Be prepared to get wet!
Animals are a huge focal point of SeaWorld and you could easily spend your day watching them. There are seals, dolphins, flamingos, stingrays…even penguins. Throughout the park there are plenty of opportunities to find out more about the animals, their natural habitat and history. At certain times you can even feed the animals and interact with them.
