Last weekend Phill and I took Rose to meet Santa Claus. I was in two minds about whether or not to take a three and half month old Rose to meet Santa. Was she too young? Would she cry? So concerned was I, I even did a Twitter poll asking if I should bring baby Rose to meet Santa. The results? 58% said YES, 42% said NO. So of course I went with the majority vote.
There are so many places to go choose from when it comes to Santa visits but in the end we decided to take Rose to Santa’s Grotto at Hillmount. Rose was sleeping when we arrived at Hillmount, which is a large garden centre in Gilnahirk, Northern Ireland. We got in line at Santa’s Grotto and were lucky enough that it wasn’t very busy (we went at lunchtime). I took Rose out of the pram, and thankfully she woke in a good mood! She was as good as gold when we set her on Santa’s lap for a photograph. And Santa was such a lovely man and gave Rose a beautiful teddy bear to take home.
After the excitement of meeting Santa, we went outside to wait on our photos and to meet the reindeer and other animals, including goats and donkeys. There was also farmyard trucks and tractor toys for older children to play on.
The photos of Rose with Santa Claus turned out great and we bought the ‘Granny Special’ of three photographs. What a great memory for us to treasure. I just hope Rose enjoys meeting Santa next year when she’s a big one year old!
I made a little video of our Santa’s Grotto Hillmount visit so check it out below, and if you don’t already, please subscribe to my Youtube channel!
